Abyssinian kittens are born with dark coats that gradually lighten as they mature, usually over several months. So Adam and I were on our way home tonight from the Josh Ritter show (so, so good) and saw a bunch of Abby-like figures in the driveway to my house. I'd hoped to keep more original parts--the cranks which have the nice detail of Raleigh herons integrated into chain ring (but with 44 teeth wasn't suitable for fixed gear with 20" wheels)--and the fork which with 26tpi would make headset installation problematic (notice the nylon bushing Raleigh used at top of head tube in lieu of bearings). Personality-wise, the cats traditionally display active, curious attitudes in which they frequently follow owners around and encourage play.

Joshua has written that the " dog-like attachment to the owners" of Abyssinian and Burmese cats causes "greater dependence on human contacts". The source of the name is because the first "Abyssinians" exhibited in shows in England were reported to have been imported to England from Ethiopia, whose name was formerly Abyssinia.The Abyssinian has had severe problems with blindness caused by a hereditary retinal degeneration due to mutations in the rdAc gene. This stands in contrast to the mere "tolerant acceptance of human company" based around "comforts" that multiple other breeds display.

I got Adam (God bless his soul) to take the garbage out on his way to work (He has to be to work a full hour later than me). The breed's distinctive appearance, seeming long, lean and finely colored compared to other cats, has been analogized to that of human fashion models. Each hair has a light base with three or four bands of additional color growing darker towards the tip. Although regarded as comparatively obscure in the past as a breed compared to others, the Abyssinian ranked in 2016 among the top five most popular breeds by The Cat Fancier Association and The International Cat Association.The base color should be as clear as possible; any extensive intermingling with grey is considered a serious fault.
