When you must full-on hike wearing your Zeta SL, you will find that it breathes as well or better than some of its competitors. As this review has made clear, the Arc’teryx Zeta SL’s target demographic is people who seriously love the outdoors. Zippers: All the zippers are seam sealed, and I never had water get through. They feel rugged and don’t snag. Durability: Like the coat, Arc’teryx calls the Zeta SL an “emergency shell.” But with 40 denier ripstop nylon I’m not concerned about durability if standard use is confined to trail walking.

With a feature-rich build, top-notch build quality, and accommodating fit, the Zeta AR is a versatile and tough shell for a variety of activities and seasons. Like I said before, if you are heading for a walk in the mountains or in the city, there is no reason not to bring the Zeta SL along for the ride.Cuffs: The cuffs are elasticized to seal in the warmth and keep out the wind, but loose enough for lightweight gloves to slip underneath them. While lighter than most of the pants in our review, we still found these pants to be durable. Instead, most of the weight savings is thanks to a simple design, that is free of typical bells and whistles (versus utilizing a super lightweight fabric).

The Zeta FL will be a little trimmer than the Zeta SL. The fit is similar but not exactly the same. We do offer a great return policy so it’s always possible to return the item free of charge if needs be. New member of Beta line Beta Long ( Men's) feels weird. Really weird. A combination of N80p face fabric and regular Gore-Tex (not Gore-Tex Pro) is confusing. Water repellency: Excellent. Water beaded up on the outer fabric, and brushed off like snowflakes, even in the heaviest of rain. The beading properties of Gore-Tex go a long way toward preventing the fabric from wetting out. Assumptions: Worn over a thin shirt, no output, no precipitation, light to no wind. Values are always for size M and for men's, except women's-only items. The Beta SL Pants are primarily designed as an outer shell, more commonly referred to as a hard shell; which means it works well to protect you from strong winds on cold days, right up to torrential downpours.Pants: Zippers, zippers, zippers. Love the crotch snap and zipper, which along with the three-quarter-length leg zippers make these pants easy to get on and off. The leg zippers provide good ventilation as well. Although the Zeta SL is a serious product with a lot to offer, there are a couple of aspects that could be improved. We currently don’t provide the breathability rating as this measure isn’t standardized in the industry and the results can be influenced by many factors (the fit, outside temperature and humidity and much more).

Zippers: The pants are loaded with zippers, which I loved. A front zipper and waist snap make these the easiest pants to get on and off that I’ve ever worn. No more struggling to pull up rain pants over shorts or other underlayer. And three-quarter-length leg zippers make these a dream for pulling on or off over boots and trail runners. If, on the other hand, you either (1)want something even more durable than the Beta AR, (2)will be hiking in quite severe weather and/or (3) want something baggier to maximize your under layering options, then Beta SV ( Men's- Women's) can be an amazing choice for you.High performance weather protection and materials, emphasizing versatility for multiple activities. Then I would have recommended the Zeta AR ( Women's ) to most of you, but as I said earlier (and as you can see here), after Fall 2021 update, it's only available for women and not for men. If you’re thinking about buying it for that purpose, the product fits. It’s easy to carry around and will keep you dry and comfortable whenever you need it to. The Zeta SL is an excellent option for those looking for top-of-the-line hiking equipment. The Zeta SL truly excels as a hill walking piece in the unpredictable UK weather; but, due to it's next to skin comfort and light weight, also works just as well as an emergency shell as it does an all day mountain piece.While it is true that Arc’teryx gear was out of reach for me personally for years, once I made the leap, I only wished I would have splashed out the money sooner. Warranty: Arc’teryx will replace or repair rain gear for what it considers to be the practical product lifespan. Rain gear damaged through wear and tear, misuse, or neglect may be repaired at a reasonable price.
