Stormdry Cream goes on white then dries clear, allowing you to easily see where you’ve already applied for consistent coverage. ProPERLA Masonry Crème, Emperor Masonry Creme, and Climashield Masonry Protection Cream (from Smartseal) are some popular brands that can work as a good substitute for Stormdry. You cannot apply PermaSEAL Facade Cream over paints or other coatings as the existing coating will inhibit the penetration of the cream into the surface, making the treatment ineffective. The vast majority of buildings in the UK have two walls and a cavity, so these figures may not apply to you. The substrate must be dry prior to application, otherwise this will present a barrier to the Masonry Cream soaking into the surface.

A Stormdry Gauge can be used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the treatment. The test should be carried out at least 28 days after applying Stormdry which allows the water absorption of the wall before and after treatment to be compared.
